Sheryll Agustin-Tienzo 96-B Diliman
Sheng – a thousand prayer salute
...

Sheryll "Sheng" Agustin-Tienzo 96-B Diliman succumbed last November 17, 2008
after days of bleeding and infection after giving birth to her fourth child.
Sisters, brods, family and friends paid their last respects at the San Fabian
Chapel in Makati as soon as the tragic news got around.
It was surreal to see a white casket instead of the bubbly and petite Sheng I
met four years back, having fun with our kids at a kiddie party to celebrate the
birthday of Armi’s precious son. I couldn’t make myself see Sheng in her white
casket, surrounded with beautiful wreaths of predominantly white flowers. My
tears just welled in my eyes for the loss of a passionate sorority sister who
has done a great service to her chapter. A sister whom I met only once but have
touched many through her commitment to an organization we all cherish.
Sheng, was one among the few who rose to the occasion when the Diliman chapter
was dying. She didn’t confine herself to just replying to my posts but she
re-enrolled herself and sifted through what was left of the Diliman chapter. For
this, the Diliman chapter exalted her to become Diliman’s first 3-term Lady
Chancellor. She had done this with 3 kids to care for and a household to
maintain.
Sheng's stay at ICU-6 of the Makati Medical Center, became a magnet for anyone
without apathy.
Through the call of blood donations and financial support for Sheng's recovery,
friends and security forces from the Asian Institute of Management (AIM),
strangers answering to blogs and threads about sheng and
Diliman, Manila and Los Baños-brods and sisters-BECAME ONE. It didn't matter who
took initiative, what mattered was that Sheng lives!
Sheng was in and out of consciousness but on the early morning of November 17,
2008, she spoke with her husband, our brod, Chain. By 6:45 am she was pronounced
dead.
Sheng may not be with us anymore but she lives, gloriously in the mansion of Our
Father. She's our first sis to be promoted to
heaven.
Sheng may have premonitions of her death as her family would say.
Mid this year, she was
already “planning” on what she would have wanted if and when she dies. She
wanted white for her funeral. She wanted to be buried in her old home in Frisco
or have her ashes scattered in St. Mary’s QC, in Quezon City Science High School
and in UP Diliman. Her plan blueprinted with love and tear, was
set to motion last November 25, 2008.
Sheng had 29 beautiful years of a life well lived.
I ask for a final salute. Let us salute Sheng with our
prayers of healing for those she left behind especially to our brod Chain and
her 4 adorable kids and Sheng’s little sister. A final salute to a woman
cherished by her husband, a caring mother, a devoted sister, a well-loved family
member and a passionate sorority sister.
Brod Chain and Sheng
And my final message to Sheng: I didn't look at you in your casket sis, because
the memory I have of you is the one that will hold us all together. The memory
of a committed, loving and beautiful woman inside and out and we will not put
your death to naught.
Please free to post your message to Sheng through our

Sheng left 4 kids ages - 0, 4, 7 and 9 year old twins. Chain also has Sheng's
little sister in his care.
